VYNNIE MELI is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Working Title Playwrights. She started out as a kid working tech in summer stock in upstate New York. Meli got her degree in sculpture, and made a living in advertising (art direction and copywriting) before coming full circle. Her first play, KEATS IN CURLERS, premiered at The Looking Glass Theatre in NYC in 2003. She's been awarded the 2009 Essential Theatre Award and the 2010 MAT (Metropolitan Atlanta Theater) Award for JIM CROW AND THE RHYTHM DARLINGS, an Honorable Mention in the Jane Chambers National Playwriting Contest in '07 and the ATHE - Association of Theater in Higher Education '07 Award, the Anna Sosenko Grant for new musicals and the Poets & Writers Magazine "Playwrights &" '09 grant. Vynnie and her husband, Gregg Marcus, are raising two great girls, Kylie and Quinn, and one ferocious poodle.
